1. Konzept und Positionierung der Verhaltenssüchte in der Klassifikation psychischer Erkrankungen

Zusammenfassung

In diesem Kapitel wird zunächst auf das traditionelle Verständnis des Suchtbegriffs eingegangen – sowohl konzeptionell als auch im Hinblick auf Veränderungen in zentralen Hirnbereichen, die an der Entstehung und Aufrechterhaltung süchtigen Verhaltens beteiligt sind. Anschließend wird die Erweiterung des Suchtbegriffs auf exzessiv betriebene Verhaltensweisen, sog. Verhaltenssüchte, vorgestellt. Hier wird das Augenmerk vor allem auf die inhaltliche Definition gelegt, sowie die Argumente vorgestellt, die jeweils für eine Klassifikation der Verhaltenssüchte als nichtsubstanzassoziierte Sucht, Impulskontrollstörung oder Zwangsstörung vorgebracht wurden. Am Ende des Kapitels werden die Hauptvertreter der Verhaltenssüchte überblicksartig dargestellt. Hierzu zählen die „Glücksspielsucht“ sowie die „Internet- und Computerspielsucht“. Erstere ist allerdings die bisher einzige Verhaltenssucht, die offiziell als solche in einem wichtigen Diagnosesystem (DSM-5) psychischer Erkrankungen anerkannt ist.
