Zusammenfassung

EMDR steht für „Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing“. Dieses achtphasige Behandlungskonzept beschreibt den gesamten Verlauf einer Traumatherapie. Wie 1889 erstmals von Janet beschrieben und in den heutigen Behandlungsstandards der AWMF für die PTBS empfohlen, beginnt eine EMDR-Behandlung mit einer traumaspezifischen Anamnese, Behandlungsplanung und Stabilisierung. Erst nach ausreichender Stabilisierung kommt die Traumabearbeitung mit den für EMDR charakteristischen konfrontierenden und prozessierenden Phasen zur Anwendung. Für jede prozessierende Sitzung wird eine belastende Erinnerung ausgewählt und in 5 Phasen integriert: Einschätzung, Neuverarbeitung, Verankerung, Körpertest und Abschluss. Die Therapie endet im besten Fall damit, dass die traumatischen Erinnerungen ihre belastende Qualität verloren haben und sich die Lebensqualität spürbar verbessert hat.
