Zusammenfassung

Wenn Ärzte und Pflegende an ihre Grenzen stoßen, braucht es Resilienz und Bewältigungsstrategien. Es geht um psychische Widerstandsfähigkeit, Krisen zu bewältigen und sie durch Rückgriff auf persönliche und sozial vermittelte Ressourcen als Anlass für Entwicklungen zu nutzen. Helfer werden hilflos, wenn kurative Therapien nicht mehr möglich sind oder wenn ein erwarteter Therapieerfolg sich nicht einstellt. Empathie (Einfühlung) und Menschlichkeit sind Grundvoraussetzungen in Heilberufen. Sie können gelebt werden mit fachlicher Kompetenz, wenn eigene Gefühle zugelassen und verstanden werden und die eigene Verwundbarkeit gesehen wird.
